Initially managed by tennis icon Bjorn Borg, the club was subsequently taken over in 1983 by Wimbledon Champion Manolo Santana, who guided its development until 1998. The club’s legacy is closely linked to that of the Hotel Puente Romano, from which it derives both its name and reputation.
Simultaneously, the Hotel Puente Romano opened its doors in 1979, coinciding with the launch of the tennis club. This development introduced a new era of sophistication and elegance to Marbella’s Golden Mile.
